Celebrating culture through dance...an Alvin Ailey performance

On February 11, 2018, the Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County sponsored a trip to the Kennedy Center in the District of Columbia to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Performance. The title of the program was called The Reflections in which there were 4 separate acts involving contemporary dance. There were over 75 students from our signature programs in attendance to include the Sarah Wise Wooten Young Ladies Academy, ASCEND students and the Cotillion-Beautillion participants. In addition to our students, the ASCEND participants from the neighboring counties also attended. It was a lovely afternoon of cultured dance with our participants and chaperones in honor of Black History Month.
