Twenty exceptional scholars, one parent stand-in, and their families, were honored at The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc. Scholarship Reception on June 19 at the Harborside Hotel in Oxon Hill Maryland. The 2019 Charities Scholarship recipients were awarded over $38,000 in scholarships through the generous contributions from The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc. members, community organizations, and from endowments, memorial scholarships, as well as individuals. Awards ranged from $1,000 to $5,000. The reception opened with the spoken word delivered by Temple University student, Suitland High School graduate, and previous Charities scholarship recipient, Yasmin Eubanks. Following the spoken word, the welcome and occasion to the recipients was delivered by Charities President, Deidre Jackson and Vice President, Carlita Head. Charities Interim Executive Director, Chris Stewart, provided words of encouragement to the students and congratulated the families for a job well done in supporting their sons and daughters. The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County, Inc.
