Charities College Send Off

The Ivy Community Charities

Updated: Jul 6, 2021

The HBCU for Life Committee, along with GADAAY and #CAP, hosted a senior recognition drive-by event on June 26, 2021 at The Ivy Youth and Family Center. The committees wanted to recognize graduating seniors that were attending a college or university by distributing college baskets to assist them with settling in and being engulfed in “college life”. The students consisted of former GADAAY students, #CAP students and children of Charities' members. There were a total of 21 students that received the college baskets. Each basket was specific to the school’s students were attending. The baskets consisted of a water bottle or Starbucks cup, lanyard, school pennant, T-shirt, padfolio, blanket and umbrella. Throughout the event, the committees greeted each student/parent, talked about college life, and reminded them to keep in touch throughout their college career. The students and their parents were grateful and appreciative for this unexpected gesture. The committees wishes them the best of luck on their journey ahead, especially during these trying times.
